Christy Carlson Romano

pichomeThe sweet-voiced Christy Carlson Romano got her start as one of the orphans in a production of Annie. She later toured with The Sound of Music as one of the Von Trapp children (with Marie Osmond playing the role of Maria) but growing up with the nickname “Aretha Franklin Wannabe” pointed to something more ambitious. Playing a singing banana in Woody Allen’s Everybody Says I Love You wasn’t enough either so Romano auditioned for the role of Tawny, a secondary character on the Disney Channel’s original comedy Even Stevens. She didn’t get it, but instead got the lead role, Ren Stevens. Disney later used Romano to be the voice of Kim Possible, an animated action gal whose show became a hit. In 2004, Disney released her self-titled debut album. ~ David Jeffries, All Music Guide

Christy Carlson Romano has ‘Class’!  November 22, 2007

So what has the “Even Stevens” and “Kim Possible” actress been up to lately? Aside from doing charity work in her hometown of Milford, Christy Carlson Romano has been promoting Connecticut to Hollywood. She was recently seen at the Capitol for a meeting of the Hollywood East task force, which is developing strategies to continue attracting film productions (state’s 30 percent tax breaks for film productions). Says Christy Carlson Romano, “There’s a lot of competition out there. And it’s great that Connecticut, the wonderful state it is, is being progressive and being consistent. It’s a huge opportunity with all the diverse settings and locations that we have here.” And to fast-track the state’s “Hollywood East” reputation, Christy Carlson Romano is co-producing (and may act in) a love story called “Class”. It is currently in pre-production for possible spring filming around Yale University in New Haven and the state Capitol. “I’m very excited to be part of it,” Christy said, describing the movie as “a female ‘Good Will Hunting’.”

Christy Carlson Romano goes home  November 8, 2007

Not to leave her Hollywood career, but just to help her hometown, Milford. According to reports, Christy Carlson Romano will help Milford’s three Catholic elementary schools this coming November 18. The 23-year old actress will make two separate appearances at the Parsons Veterans Memorial Auditorium to benefit the scholarship and endowments of St. Gabriel, St. Ann and St. Mary schools. Christy Carlson Romano will first give a private reading and book signing of her coming-of-age novel “Grace’s Turn” from 1 to 3 pm. Then, from 3:15 to 4:30, she will discuss the highs and lows of her career, which began at age 6.

The event will end with a celebrity memorabilia auction conducted by Mayor James L. Richetelli. The grand prize is either a walk-on appearance in Romano’s upcoming movie, scheduled to film in New Haven next spring, or lunch with the star. WOW! Milford residents, here’s your chance to appear in a Hollywood movie, lol! Says Christy Carlson Romano via a phone call last Monday: “It’s always a pleasure to come back to Milford for the holidays and help out. We’ll have an afternoon of activities to help the schools.” Nice one Christy! It’s always great to see celebrities who pay homage to their hometowns where they first began =)

Watch out for Christy Carlson Romano in “Kaya”  October 20, 2007
index_03
Disney’s “Even Stevens” star Christy Carlson Romano is slated to appear in MTV’s latest scripted drama “Kaya”. The said show is about a young woman (Kaya) whose rock band Crossing Coldwater becomes an overnight rock sensation. A dream come true but the lead character then struggles to come to terms with her own identity as the band’s relationship suffers when egos clash and hidden jealousies surface. According to reports, “Kim Possible” voice talent Christy Carlson Romano is set to guest star later in the show’s current season. She will play the lead singer of a rival band and has eyes for one of the Crossing Coldwater cutie guys. Hmm, lead singer… Can Christy give justice to her rocker chick role? After all, she’s got a great voice that landed her the “Kim Possible” project. Well, we shall soon find out! Catch “Kaya” starting this Monday, October 22 at 10:30 p.m. (ET/PT) on MTV.

Christy Carlson Romano stars in a teen comedy!  October 9, 2007

Kim Possible and Even Stevens star Christy Carlson Romano is set to star in a teen comedy entitled Taking 5. She plays the character of Danielle, the role as yet undefined. The movie is all about the escapades of two teen-band worshippers, Gabby and Devon. They are best friends and ultimate fans of mega-boy band 5 Leo Rise (played by real band The Click Five). When they ruin their high school’s chance to win a free concert, the desperate pair schemed to kidnap 5 Leo Rise to play in their high school. Sounds really fun huh? =) I just hope Christy Carlson Romano has a big role in the movie. She’s really talented, what’s lacking are good projects that will enable her to shine. According to MarVista, Taking 5’s international distributor, “There is a strong demand in the marketplace right now for movies of this genre [teen], given the success of High School Musical.” Right on dude! When you have the success as she has, you can afford to have a nice house build for you or your parents. I remember one star who was from nebraska built an add on to their parents house, they paid for everything from the trash container dumpster rental company in omaha, to the new lawn care they had done. Thats giving back to your parents in a big way.

Vanessa Hudgens

vanessahudgenspicVanessa Anne Hudgens is a young actress best known for her appearances on The Disney Channel, including her starring turn in the TV movie High School Musical (2006). Hudgens grew up in southern California and began her acting career before she was in her teens. She began getting roles on television in 2002, and soon landed roles in the feature films Thirteen (2003) and Thunderbirds (2004, directed by Jonathan Frakes). Already a regular guest on the Disney comedy series The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, she was picked to star opposite Zac Efron in the made-for-TV romance High School Musical. The movie was a hit and the soundtrack reached the top of Billboard’s charts, and Hudgens went on to secure a record deal.

Vanessa’s per-Christmas family time!  December 23, 2007

Hmm, so that’s how the Hudgens girls look like! All are dark-haired and smallish of frame, cute! Hehe! It seems that only Vanessa Hudgens’ dad (not here) is big and blond, hmm.. This photo was taken one early December morning as the girls went to Mo’s joint in Toluca Lake, California to get some yummy breakfast. The High School Musical cutie is with mom Gina (at the back), sister Stella and a female family friend. The foursome spent about an hour eating and left separately, with Vanessa Hudgens driving her new Audi S4 convertible. The 19-year old actress wore a velour track suit and Marc Jacobs sunglasses, carried around a Louis Vuitton wallet and Miu Miu Vitello Lux Hobo handbag. My, I bet there’s a few thousand dollars in her fashion statement for that day. Still, you can’t blame Vanessa Hudgens, I’m sure she’s raking in millions from the HSM success! An interesting tidbit: her car, the Audi S4 Cabriolet, retails starting at $56,775. Can you afford that as a birthday gift?? I certainly can’t! LOL!

Vanessa Hudgens turns 19!  December 17, 2007

And boy, did she celebrate it in high-style! No, I don’t mean all-night long parties and such – I meant splurging on a brand new car! Yesiree, after getting her driver’s license a few days back, Vanessa Hudgens finally got her own car. And just like the car of her boyfriend, Zac Efron, it’s an Audi! To be exact, it’s a drool-worthy black Audi S4 Cabriolet. The pint-sized actress was seen driving it the day after her birthday with her mother in the passenger seat. The big question – did Vanessa Hudgens buy it or is it a gift from Zac??

On the day of her birthday (December 14, Friday), Vanessa Hudgens was seen around town with her mom Gina. According to paparazzi following her every move, the HSM actress spent the day at an office building before leaving with a police escort. Later that day, she received a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Zac Efron was nowhere to be found as he was stuck filming on the set of “Seventeen”. He, however, made up for it the next day when they want on a casual date. Sweet!

Vanessa Hudgens sings in Washington!  December 11, 2007

If you’re wondering why pictures of the cutie High Musical Star actress in drab airports are everywhere, this is the answer: Vanessa Hudgens left Los Angeles and went to our country’s capital for a brief performance. Of course, the paparazzi waited for her in LA and Washington airports. Man, it’s really tough with all those cameras pointed at you! Anyway, the teen star performed a song alongside American Idol alumni Katharine McPhee and R&B singer Ne-Yo during the filming of TNT’s Christmas in Washington 2007 at The National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. last Sunday. Vanessa Hudgens joined the ranks of other famous singers like Andrea Bocelli. Alan Jackson, Colbie Caillat and Heather Headley also performed. The said special will be hosted by Dr. Phil and his wife Robin McGraw and will benefit the Children’s National Medical Center. It will air on Wednesday, Dec. 12 @ 10PM ET/PT on TNT. Watch out for it! Vanessa Hudgens will shine as usual! =)

What’s up with Vanessa Hudgens??  December 4, 2007

A lot! But the most important ones involve driving and charity. Yesiree! Our darling Vanessa Hudgens’ practical Christmas wish (as she shared in USA Today) finally came true this week. Last week, the 18-year-old High School Musical actress passed her California driving written test at the DMV in Glendale, California. And last Monday, December 3, Vanessa Hudgens was spotted driving her parents’ Toyota Camry in Los Angeles with mom, Gina. Yeeha! I wonder what car she’ll buy..

Anyway, as for charity, V paid a visit to Ocean Drive Magazine to promote the charity program Best Buddies last November 29 in Miami Beach, Florida. Vanessa Hudgens shares, “Best Buddies is an amazing organization that helps support people with mental disabilities. Today, it actually puts them in jobs, which is why I’m here at Ocean Drive … My manager is the person who actually developed it, and I found out about it and I thought it was an amazing organization. It’s really neat to reach out to people who are, like, fans, too. Just to be able to be a part of their lives is really neat.” And when you have money like vanessa, you can afford executive gutter cleaning services in omaha, or where you live.

Vanessa Hudgens’ Christmas Thoughts  November 28, 2007

High School Musical is HOT! This Christmas season, USA Today gathered the franchise’s stars for a little wishlist sharing. For Vanessa Hudgens, topmost on her wishlist is something practical and is all up to her to make it happen. Shares the cutie actress, “My driver’s license. I plan on taking my test really soon.” You go girl! I’m sure Zac Efron will let you drive his Audi.. or not! Lol! As for her favorite holiday tradition, Vanessa Hudgens relates, “Putting up the Christmas tree together as a family. I love doing themes. This year is going to be gold and crystal.” As for her hope for Gabriella (her

My son wanted to be like ricky when he was little. He’d recite lines from one his shows in the kitchen, and jump around and dance, to point of one time he somehow knocked a fork down the garbage disposal and broke it. So i had to call an arlington appliance repair service to come out and fix it. Needless to say, i told my son to act out scenes in his room after that.

AJ Michalka joins new movie of Peter Jackson!  September 29, 2007

Yes, THE Peter Jackson of “Lord of the Rings” fame. Isn’t AJ Michalka lucky to be working with him?? The new movie of Mr. Jackson is entitled The Lovely Bones, and is being shot in Wellington and Pennsylvania. The teen singer-actress will play the role of Clarissa, the best friend of 14-year-old Susie Salmon. Susie is played by Irish actress Saoirse Ronan. She is raped and murdered in the film, and from the afterlife, she watches how her family and friends are affected. AJ Michalka tells MTV, “It’s like a dream role. I was flipping out (when I heard I won the part). I’m really, really stoked.”

The best part? AJ’s gonna be working with Ryan Gosling whom she adores! She gushes, “He [Gosling] was so incredible in ‘Half Nelson’ … I have a really emotional, intense, freaky scene with Ryan. It’s gonna be crazy.” And how does it feel to work with the legendary director Peter Jackson in a movie? AJ Michalka shares, “It’s just great for me as an actress to grow and work with such amazing people. The whole cast is amazing. Peter (Jackson) – he’s amazing. It’s gonna be cool. plinks_30 Raven’s full name is Raven-Symoné Christina Pearman.

She went straight from THE COSBY SHOW to a four-year stint on the popular sitcom HANGIN’ WITH MR. COOPER, with guest appearances in THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL AIR and SPACE GHOST along the way. She played the five-year-old Queen in the miniseries of the same name, was Stymie’s girlfriend in the 1994 big-screen LITTLE RASCALS, and voiced Goldilocks in HAPPILY EVER AFTER: FAIRY TALES FOR EVERY CHILD. She has also had memorable roles in both Eddie Murphy’s DOCTOR DOLITTLE feature films, as well as appearing as Nebula Wade in XENON: GIRL OF THE 21ST CENTURY. Raven-Symone hasn’t stopped at acting, though. She’s a singer as well, and has released two CDs. Somewhere in the midst of this hectic schedule, she finds time to attend high school in Atlanta.

Raven Hosts L.A. Fashion Show  March 26, 2008

Oh so Raven! This time as the hostess with the mostess at the Christian Audigier Fashion show, which took place on March 11, 2008. Rumor has it that there are still more than a few, off the wall, photos of Raven at the event.

It seems that some of her fans were in disagreement over the suitability of her wardrobe choices, for the event. Some loved them and some thought they were just plain ugly. (When it comes down to it, it just depends how much you adore fishnets and purple skeletons.)

The whole think kind of makes you wonder if there’s a new line of Raven inspired clothing, in the works.

Raven talks about books and films!  December 16, 2007

She may be the teen version of Martha Stewart, what with her own lifestyle and crafts website, but Raven Symone is still into what normal teens do – watch lots of movies and read some books. The only difference? The Disney star is into serious stuff. Take for example the current book she’s reading now, it’s “Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking” by Malcolm Gladwell. As I said, serious, adult stuff! Hehe! Her favorite books include “Poems of Passion,” by Ella Wheel Wilcox, “The Celestine Prophecy” by James Redfield, and “The Power of Intention” by Wayne W. Dyer. Have you ever heard of these books?? Yeah, I thought so! But, when it comes to films, Raven Symone is a teen all the way! Her three favorite movies are all done by the eccentric brothers Andy and Larry Wachowski. Yup, the former Cheetah girl is hung up on “The Matrix”, “The Matrix Reloaded” and “The Matrix Revolutions”. Great choices if I may say so! =)

Raven Symone is back!!!  December 6, 2007

In the world of news that is, hehe! Being the private person that she is, it’s hard to get a hold of new stuff happening in the life of Raven Symone, ex-Cheetah Girl. But now, things are looking up. The OFFICIAL trailer of her upcoming movie is out and boy, it sure looks fun! You can view the video HERE (http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZQKeSKs0uV4). Raven Symone stars with Martin Lawrence in this family comedy film set for release on March 7, 2008. Oh yeah, before I forget, it’s entitled “College Road Trip” and the Disney star will play Rachel Porter, a young go-getter high school student who wants to be a public defender and takes a country trip to visit potential universities. Martin Lawrence will play Raven Symone’s overprotective father, who also happens to be a cop, and accompanies her in the trip. Funny parent-child brouhaha ensues =) Raven was last seen in 2004’s “The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement” where she had a supporting role.

Raven Symone Presents!  September 18, 2007

Raven Symone, star of Disney Channel’s funky show “That’s So Raven”, is a super private individual that news about her daily life comes in trickles. She is considered as a “normal kid” by entertainment standards and lives outside of Hollywood. Hmm, maybe that’s why Hollywood tabloids rarely write about her! So for fans hungering for their Raven fix, you can visit her “craft and food” website at RavenSymonePresents.com – its chock full of craft videos and ringtones! You can even download some items to your mobile phone! Ain’t that super cool? =)

In other Raven news, our favorite teen psychic is set to appear in California First Lady Maria Shriver’s annual conference. The 2007 Governor and First Lady’s Women’s Conference will be held on October 23 at the Long Beach Convention Center. Raven will be with international politicians (!!!) and luminaries; and also with other Hollywood stars like American Idol runner up Katherine McPhee, actresses Vanessa Williams and Jamie Lee Curtis, and of course, Maria’s husband — Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. Rock on Raven!…

In 2006, Efron starred in the hugely popular Disney Channel movie High School Musical. He plays a guy named Troy who falls for a girl named Gabriella (Vanessa Anne Hudgens) when they meet at a karoke contest.

All tracks were from the soundtrack of “High School Musical”.
